The purpose of the course is to help participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing, and first aid emergencies; to know how to care for a suddenly injured or ill person until more advanced medical personnel arrive and take over. Infant, child and adult skills are covered in this course.
The American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric Blended Learning class is divided into two sessions: an online session (time range is .50 to 4.5 hours depending on pre-assessment) and then a subsequent skills session (scheduled for 2 hours 30 minutes). To complete the course requirements and receive a course completion certificate, a participant must be able to complete all required physical skills proficiently without any coaching or assistance during the assessment scenarios. Upon meeting the criteria for course completion and demonstration of competency, participants will receive a 2-year American Red Cross certification.
Please be sure to check with your physicians to ensure you are able to do the skill session (compressions, kneeling, standing), PRIOR to registration.
You MUST show up to the subsequent skill session of the class 10 mins EARLY and you must be bring proof of the COMPLETED ONLINE SESSION!
